2019, Let's do this thing!
It’s 9am on December 29th. My wife, daughter and I woke up this morning to Kelowna’s first big blanket of snow. Our daughter has never really seen snow like this before and It is so beautiful to watch her experience something she’s never seen! Like so many of us, I often think of new beginnings and fresh starts when I think of entering a new year, and as 2019 peaks its head, I wanted to talk about the notion of resolutions for myself and my students as it pertains to the drum academy.
This year, I am excited to work on organization, creativity and growth. From an organizational standpoint, I will be tying up loose ends, consolidating my efforts, making certain aspects of running a small business much easier to work with, as well as managing my time more efficiently and effectively. Creatively speaking, I want to come up with new ways to teach, interact and show appreciation to my students and their families. From a growth perspective, I’m excited for the possibilities of hiring another instructor and expanding on lesson materials. There is one awesome possibility that I unfortunately can’t discuss here right away, but I hope to very soon!
For the Students, my one hope is that they will continue to commit time to the craft, setting up a consistent practice routine, not necessarily focusing on quantity but the quality of time spent on the drums.
So with that said, Lessons start back up on Monday, Jan 7th and I am looking very forward to seeing all of you! Have a very happy New Year and I’ll see you in 2019!
