Mindset, Mindset, Mindset.

I don’t know about you, but on this first day back to work, I do believe I am exhausted. The Christmas break was filled with family gatherings, late nights, early mornings and attempts to fit work in between.

For multiple reasons you may be feeling the same way and you might be thinking, “The last thing I want to do is get up and go to work!” Especially as teachers, our output of energy has to be quite high as we often are dealing with a range of student behaviours, emotions, learning styles and more.

Here are my two main issues, 1. As a human, I seem to have this tendency to forget the “why” I do what I do and so I lose sight of my mission. 2. Even if I can remember what it is I’m trying to do, I don’t believe in myself.

So with that said and as someone who is tired this morning, not really feeling the greatest, how can we turn this around?

I believe the answer is Mindset. That’s it. It’s all about Mindset…revolutionary, I know!

Yes it’s something we’ve heard a billion times, but I know that it’s true. Taking the time in the morning, even if it’s only a few minutes to realign myself with my truths and mission for the day has radically changed my mood and behaviour and sets me up for what’s to come. Shifting my mindset to that of thankfulness has allowed me to see how blessed I am even just to wake up, breath in clean air, eat some good food, drink some cold water and put on some clean clothes. Lastly, Making the intentional choice to surround myself with friends, family and loved ones who’ve got my back and I theirs. Strong, loving community is a game changer when it comes to remembering the “why” in life.

My hope today is that you be will encouraged with this final summarization. Be thankful, be loving, and invite others to do life with you.

Thanks for reading.
