BTN Group Hangs / Drum Set Initiative
Hey Crew!
If you read the last post, you would have seen that February was a crazy good month for BTN. (see Field Trip 2020 for more on that)
We then capped off the month with our second BTN Hang of 2020. This time we were at the studio and with 11 of us, 4 large pizzas and 3 cases of Zevia, it was really a wonderful time.
We spent the Friday evening getting to know each other, playing lots of games around the property like tag, hide and seek and and of course got in some drumming. We ended the evening with a drum challenge. The challenge was to play the entire second page of George Lawrence Stone’s ‘Stick Control’ without error. Whoever got the furthest won a brand new pair of Heartbeat Drum Sticks!
I love this little drum community of ours :)
This month one of BTN’s newest students also got hooked up with a drum set!
As Spring is on the horizon, we are gearing up for our end of year recitals which means all students performing at the end of June have switched gears and are in full practice mode for their songs of choice.
March will be a quieter month due to spring break, but we will still be hosting a hang out for any students sticking around town.
Thanks to all who support this tiny Drum Academy and I look forward to bringing you more positive, meaningful, and hopefully inspiring content!
