Summer Camps 2024!

After two awesome weeks of summer camps (July 8-12 & Aug 5-9), I wanted to share some highlights!

We brought back our favourite neon glow-in-the-dark theme, aiming for an epic performance on the last day with glow paint and black lights.

Before diving into show prep, we soaked up outdoor fun at the park and beach, learned about drums, percussion, and being a solid timekeeper. We explored rudiments, tempo, and rhythms, set up drum kits, and bonded as a team.

Mid-week, we had a blast at the beach with paddle boarding, slack lining, sunshine, and a pizza/movie day.

As the week progressed, we got serious about our performance. Campers customized their bucket drums and sticks with glow paint, and it was amazing to see the groups bring their ideas to life using body percussion and bucket drumming.

Friday was all about face and arm painting in a primal style for the show. Each performance was as unique as the kids, and parents were all smiles!

Huge thanks to Metro Hub, Heartbeat Percussion, our fantastic volunteers (Jordan, Jess, and Danika), and of course, the parents who shared their awesome kids with us.
