What's New Pussycat - BTN's June Update.

Top of the month to ya!

June is finally here. The grass is lush, the air is warm and it’s the last month before school is out for the summer. Typically right about now, BTN is putting the final touches on our end of year recital where the students get the chance to perform and see each other perform for friends and family. It’s something that I personally really look forward to because its an opportunity to really showcase the incredible students, make them feel like rock stars and for some, provide an opportunity for breakthrough in facing fears .

Most unfortunately, as every person on the planet knows, meeting in large parties at the moment tends to be a thing that is frowned upon.

So, I’ve made the decision to let it go for this year, hoping that next year will be different. I could have hosted some sort of online Zoom recital, but honestly I have very little interest in such things. The entire purpose of the recitals is live, face to face interaction between the crowd and the artist where the student can feel the nerves, highs and thrill of playing for an audience. It’s a potent experience that can’t be replaced.

Thus - until next season!

This year (and especially this past term) has been unreal for BTN’s Drum Set Initiative. This year BTN has given away for either free or very cheap over 7 kits! There is something so satisfying in watching kids drive away with a kit in the cars and a smile on their faces. Check out the link above to see more on this meaningful and exciting piece to Bring The Noise Drum Academy.

Take care everyone and until next time, this is Zac Gauthier, founder and teacher of BTN sending out some love.
